Description
The Methodist Chapel, dated 1865, features a central stone plaque and is constructed of rubble with grooved ashlar on the ground floor of the frontage. It has ashlar quoins and a rendered first floor, topped by a front-facing gable and a concrete tile roof that has a ridge at right angles to the frontage. The coped verges include one with a poppy finial and a brick stack. The chapel has segmental-headed casements with glazing bars set in dressed stone surrounds that have emphasised keys, with three on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The central pointed-arch door opening is fitted with paired traceried doors and is framed by a Roman-Doric portico supported by two columns and two pilasters, complete with a cornice and blocking course. The chapel is complemented by a railed forecourt featuring wrought-iron railings and paired wrought-iron gates.
