Description
Parsonage House is a house with a 17th-century core, rebuilt in the late 18th century. It is marked on Ordnance Survey maps as the Old Rectory. The house is constructed of random rubble with rough-hewn quoins, and has a slate roof divided into three sections by copings. The central section features a stone eaves cornice and coped verges. There is one ashlar stack with a cap, and four brick stacks. The facade is arranged with a 1:3:1 bay arrangement, with the centre projecting slightly. It has nine- and twelve-pane sash windows set in dressed stone surrounds with chamfered reveals. The central doorcase is constructed of stone, with a triglyph frieze featuring paterae and a cornice resting on twin Tuscan pilasters; the doorway has a five-panelled door with the top panel cut away and glazed. Some stone-mullioned windows are located at the rear of the building.
