Description

The gate piers and gates, located about 65 metres north of Bowling Green House, were likely built in 1914 and designed by E. Guy Dawber. They are made of local stone that is cut and squared, with oak gates. The piers are approximately 500 millimetres square, with the penultimate course projecting before sweeping up to cast stone peacock finials. The gates feature lower sections with three fielded panels each, simple balusters, and an elaborately shaped top rail. These elements were specifically designed as part of the setting for the important 20th-century house.
