Description
Abrahams Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from ham stone, primarily in coursed rubble, with cut and squared stonework under the eaves indicating a roof raising. The house features a thatched roof with coped gables and brick chimney stacks. It has an 'L'-shaped plan, two storeys, and an irregular six-bay facade. The windows are horizontal-bar casements with two lights, and there is a pair of windows in the lower part of bay 2. The windows in bays 1, 5, and 6 have been heightened and are set under segmental arches, with part of another arch to the left of bay 2. The upper window in bay 4 is a square 18th-century single-light rectangular leaded unit. Below bay 4, to the left, there is an 18th-century door in a heavy frame, topped with a timber hood supported by wrought-iron brackets. The east gable features a new opening with a tiff doorway and a lean-to at the rear. An extension with a gabled rear coping finial is located at the south-west corner. The interior has not been seen. Approximately 3 metres north of the house are the boundary railings, made of cast iron with horizontal bars, cast uprights, and circular corner columns and gateposts, along with a matching gate opposite the doorway, enhancing the setting of the house.
