CHIPSTABLE CP -Boundary post at NGR ST 0327 2458

GII County boundary post.Dated 1910,resited 1970s.Iron founder C W Harris of Chewton Mendip.Cast iron.V-shape in plan,hollow in section,about 720mm high with sloping top inscribed:"Boundary 1910";east face inscribed vertically:"Somerset"and horizontally on plinth:"CW Harris";west face inscribed vertically:"Devon"and horizontally on plinth:"Chewton Mendip".The boundary post was resited when the A361 was embanked.
