Description
This is a boundary post located at the National Grid Reference ST 0327 2458. It was created in 1910 and resited in the 1970s. The post was made by the iron founder C W Harris of Chewton Mendip and is constructed of cast iron. It has a V-shape in plan and is hollow in section, standing about 720mm high with a sloping top. The top is inscribed with "Boundary 1910." The east face features vertical inscriptions reading "Somerset" and a horizontal inscription on the plinth that says "CW Harris." The west face has vertical inscriptions stating "Devon" and a horizontal inscription on the plinth that reads "Chewton Mendip." The post was moved when the A361 road was embanked.
