Description

Well Cottage, with a wing wall on the south-east corner, is a detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from cut and squared Ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a double Roman clay tiled roof between stepped coped gables, along with brick end chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. It includes plain chamfer-mullioned windows with three lights, which have horizontal-bar casement inserts and no labels. The entrance is located in the east gable. Attached to the front of the east gable is a short wing wall, approximately 2.5 meters high, which has a plain gateway. Above the gateway is the head of a two-light cinquefoil cusped window, possibly from the 16th century, though its source is unknown. A 20th-century wrought iron gate is also present. The interior has not been seen.
