Description

This lamp post, located in the street wall between Nos 15 and 16 on Goulds Ground, was built between 1901 and 1904 by a local art-metal firm called Singers. It features a cast-iron standard with a crook designed to suspend a lamp, which is adorned with art-nouveau style ornamentation. This lamp post has been adapted for town lighting and represents an early provincial example of electrification.
