Description

The gate piers and gate, located about 30 metres northeast of the Church of St Michael, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from ham stone and wrought iron. The gate piers are approximately 500 millimetres square and stand 2.5 metres high. Each pier features a plain plinth, a shaft, a collar, and a fluted cap topped with an ogee pyramidal design. The gate itself has twist spearheads on the rails and a semi-circular brace on the lower panel. These structures contribute to the overall setting of the Church of St Michael.
