Description
This is an early 18th-century chest tomb made of Doulting stone, located in the churchyard 21 metres west of the porch of the Church of St Mary in Berkley. The tomb features a hollow chamfered plinth that supports elaborately carved panels. Each corner has a carved quarter baluster, and the design includes veiled urns with a central framed oval field, topped with winged cherubs. The tomb has a moulded cornice and a flat top. The dedication on the tomb is illegible.
