Description
Fairoak Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed from rubble Doulting stone, with some parts rendered, and features a plain clay tile roof. The building has four brick chimney stacks and is designed in a two-storey and attic "T" plan. The front has four windows, which are generally 19th century timber casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, although some have been replaced with wrought iron frames that include cast iron fasteners shaped like a clenched fist and bar. On the right side of the first floor, there is a five-light cavetto-moulded stone mullion window. The entrance consists of a four-panel door, with two glazed panels, located under a plain clay tile hipped roof porch. To the left, there is a bay that is set back deep under the eaves, featuring a high-level access door to the first-floor loft, which was once used as a cheese store. The interior has been significantly altered and is of little interest.
