Description
Dairy House Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The building features undulating clay pantiled roofs between coped gables and has brick chimney stacks at the ends. The farmhouse has an 'L' plan and consists of two storeys with a three-bay east elevation, where the third bay projects as a one-bay.
The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types with square heads and labels; bays one and two have three-light windows, while bay three has a four-light window at both levels. Some of the windows include iron framed opening lights and wrought iron stay bars. In the corner of bay two, there is a cambered arched doorway with a plain boarded door, which is accompanied by an early 20th-century timber and tiled porch. Additionally, there is a deep window recess in the south gable that may indicate a former doorway. A lean-to is present against the north side, along with further extensions to the rear. The interior has not been seen.
