Description

The outbuildings, located 5 metres east of North Coker House, consist of former stables, a stable-lad's cottage, and a garage. Most of these structures date from the 19th century but include earlier fragments. They are built from local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings and feature plain clay tiles between coped gables with finials, along with stone base courses on the north range and one brick chimney stack. The range is arranged in a "U" shape and is mostly one storey with some attics. The windows are primarily wood casements with segmental arched stone lintels. In the north wing, there is a 2-light hollow chamfer mullioned window under a label, and above it to the left is an apparently 14th-century traceried 2-light window with cinquefoil cusped heads, set into a gablet, which may have been reset. This wing also shows several straight joints in its walls. Additionally, there is a gabletted archway in the east wing. The north wing incorporates fragments of Caswell Farm, which was formerly located on the site.
