Description

The Old Cleeve War Memorial is a structure dedicated on 18 April 1920 to commemorate and honour the men of Old Cleeve parish who lost their lives and those who suffered while serving their country during the First and Second World Wars.

The monument features a Latin cross made of Portland stone, standing approximately 5 meters high, set on an irregular stone base. On its front face, there is a bronze sword of sacrifice. The design of the memorial appears to be influenced by Reginald Blomfield's Cross of Sacrifice from 1918, which was created for the Imperial War Graves Commission and bears similarities to this memorial.
