Description
The Former Great Western Hotel is a two-storey building from the mid-19th century, located on Station Road, opposite the south block of Taunton Station. It features a hipped slate roof and has a five-window section to the left of the entrance that projects slightly. The building has a total of fifteen windows, which are arranged in moulded surrounds and consist of sashes with glazing bars. There are two doorways positioned to the left of the centre, each adorned with pilasters and an entablature. A contemporary hood with scrolled brackets and anthemion motifs is present above the doorways. The Former Great Western Hotel is part of a group that includes The Wheel Tanner Public House and Taunton Station (South block).
