Description
The remains of a gasholder, dating from around 1855, are located 1 metre west of the Gas Retort House at St. Audrie's Holiday Centre. The structure is made of brick and is circular in shape, measuring about 4 metres across and approximately 1 metre deep, although it was filled with water at the time of the survey in October 1983. The base of the gasholder is level with the surrounding ground, which was completely overgrown during the survey, making it unclear if any other parts of the structure remain. This site is primarily listed for its historical interest in relation to the adjoining gas retort house.
