Description

The Churchill Chest Tomb, located in the churchyard 5 metres west of the southwest corner of the west tower of the Church of Saint Mary, is a chest tomb that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is made of Doulting and Keinton stone and features a moulded base, plain Keinton slab sides, and a moulded shallow hipped top. Most of the inscriptions have been lost, but there is a reference to Aedward Churchill on the east side, although no dates are discernible.
