Description
Wyche Lodge is a pair of cottages, now functioning as a single dwelling, built around 1830. The building is rendered over rubble and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and a soffit board, along with a central brick chimney stack. The plan is irregularly octagonal, originally consisting of two one-up one-down cottages. It has two storeys and two bays, with Tudor arch head windows that have moulded stone architraves and no glazing bars. There are single-storey hipped roof porches on the returns, featuring pointed arch openings. The right entrance has a fanlight with radiating bars, while the left entrance is blocked. The first floor on the returns has two blind 2-light windows. This attractive pair of cottages was built for foresters on the estate.
