Description

The Daniel Holley Tomb is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 20 metres northeast of the east end of the Church of St. Philip and St. James. It dates from 1813 and is made of red sandstone. The tomb features a plain base and has four panels with attached columns that have leaf-decorated capitals at the corners. The edge of the tomb has a half-round moulding leading to a railed, cushioned top. The side panel is finely incised with decorated urns, a ribbon and vine pattern, and detailed lettering that reads "Daniel Holley, 1813."
