Description
Holmwood Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with coped verges and features a double Roman tile roof with end rubble stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays, with three-light moulded stone mullioned windows set in moulded architraves and stone cills. Each light has a metal casement with square paned leaded lights. The central door opening is framed by a stone doorcase, flanked by pilasters with an entablature and triangular pediment, and features a six-panelled door with the top two panels glazed. There are single-storey outshuts on each side that were altered in the late 20th century. Inside, the farmhouse includes some window shutters, panelled doors, and two fireplaces with broad wooden bressumers.
