Description
The gatepiers at Lower Lodge, located southeast of Harptree Court, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of ashlar and stand 2.5 meters high, featuring a rectangular shape. The bases are fluted, and the ashlar blocks are arranged in an alternating pattern of two headers and one stretcher, creating a chamfered rustication effect. The gatepiers are topped with projecting, intricately moulded cornices that support elliptical ball finials, which are set on two rectangular blocks that decrease in size.
