Description
This public library, located on Corporation Street, was built in 1904 by Colbourne, Little and Goodson and extended in 1913 in a similar style. It is designed in the Neo-Tudor style and features two storeys constructed from red sandstone with pale dressings. The building has a parapet with a central gable and diamond motifs suspended from the capping. There is some imitation corbelling, and the façade includes three main windows with five mullioned lights, separated by smaller openings. Above the entrance is a central oriel window. The ground floor is supported by paired buttresses, and there are five-light windows on either side, divided by single lights. The entrance features an ogee moulded top and double wooden doors, while a canted bay extends through both storeys to the right. The extensions from 1911 are also included in the design. This building is part of a group of listed buildings in Bath Place and Corporation Street, with the exception of No 34 and the Dragon Book Shop and Wall.
