Description
No. 11 Friarn Street is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It features painted render over brick with a double-pitch pantile roof and brick stacks at the valley ends. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The second-floor windows, located beneath a low parapet, have flat arches and are fitted with 20th-century simulated 6/6-pane sashes. There are platbands between each floor. The first-floor windows are set in segmental-arched recesses with 6/6-pane sashes that have reeded lintels. The entrance door, positioned to the right of centre within a raised surround that has a segmental top, features six raised-and-fielded panels, with smaller panels in the centre. The flanking windows, which were similar to those above, now have plate-glass in the upper sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
