Description

The Gould monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 6 metres north of the chancel of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It dates from the 18th century and is made of Ham and Keinton stones. The base is buried, and it features reeded Ham stone corner pilasters with single plain Keinton slab panels on each end and flank. The tomb is topped with a moulded hipped Ham stone lid. It commemorates Elizabeth Gould, the wife of Lanes, although the date of her decease has eroded and is no longer visible.
