Description

This gateway, located about 70 meters north of Ash House, dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from ham stone and features a cast iron gate. The gateway has ashlar square piers with a chamfered plinth, cornice-type caps, and pineapple finials. The gate itself is an early 20th-century farm-type made of cast iron, with horizontal rails, quarter-circle bracing, and scrolls on the top rail. It is likely that this gateway once served as an entrance to Ash House.
