Description

HIGH HAM CP LONG STREET (East side) ST42NW LOW HAM 5/47 Fir Tree Farmhouse, and mounting - block 6 metres west GV II

House, formerly the Fleur-de-Lys Coaching Inn. C17 origin, modified C19. Local lias stone cut and squared; plain clay tile roof with stepped coped gable to north; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys; 3 wide bays - a fourth collapsed some years ago. Horizontal bar casements with timber lintols, mostly 3-light, but 4-light to both levels bay 2, no window lower bay 1, and label over lower bay 3; between bays 2 and 3 a wide 6-flush panel door with glazed toplights, set in colourwashed brick and tiled porch. Rendered south gable, with steel casement windows: north gable has brick patching at top and a lower matching extension, with a Welsh slated lean-to on the west side. Interior not seen. Six metres west of house a 3-step mounting block in lias stone, a relic of the coaching days.
