Description
The Matthew Gill chest tomb, located in the churchyard 5 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Congar, dates from 1770 and commemorates Matthew Gill. It is made of dressed stone and features a slab base, a low moulded plinth, and a chest adorned with decorated corner pilasters and central pilasters on each side. The tomb has a moulded cornice and a hipped slab top that is moulded around its edge. There are inscriptions on each side, though some have decayed over time.
