Description
The School House, now a residence, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with two brick ridge stacks featuring paired decorative hexagonal chimney pots, and it has a triple Roman tile roof. The building showcases a Domestic Revival style and is one storey with an attic, consisting of one bay on each side. The left bay on the first floor is set under a gable and features two-light chamfered stone mullioned windows with diamond paned leaded lights, which are set beneath stopped labels. A door opening is located between the bays, featuring a ribbed plank door and a large projecting gabled hood with a triple Roman tile roof, supported by wooden brackets that have fretwork decoration. The right return has one bay with a two-light chamfered stone mullioned window on the first floor and a similar three-light opening on the ground floor, both with leaded lights. A single-storey addition to the left is not included in this description.
