Description
Tootle Bridge is a road bridge that possibly dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from local lias stone, which is cut and squared, and features ashlar copings. The bridge has three semi-circular arches, with the center arch being slightly taller than the others. The solid parapets are slightly pointed in the center and have curved end returns. The bridge has been slightly adapted at the upper level to realign the roadway. It includes two rows of voussoirs for the arches, one angled cutwater on the west side, and two on the east side, with the southern cutwater being taller. Tootle Bridge marks the boundary between the civil parishes of Barton St David and Baltonsborough.
