Description
Lower Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed and squared Hamstone. It features a 19th-century double-Roman tiled roof and brick stacks, along with a 20th-century skylight. The building is positioned at right angles to the highway and consists of two storeys and an attic, with four bays. It has two and three-light moulded stone-mullioned windows on the ground floor, which are adorned with stopped labels, iron casements, and square-paned leaded lights. The door opening to the third bay is framed by a moulded 4-centred architrave and includes a wooden floor and a plank door with iron strap hinges. Additionally, there are stone-mullioned windows on the return to the roadside, as noted in an unpublished report from the Victoria Archaeological Group in 1976.
