Description
The Vicarage is a mid-19th century vicarage located on Church Street in Cheddar. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring coped verges and a slate roof, with three rendered stacks. The building showcases a muscular Gothic style and is two storeys tall with an attic, arranged in a 2:1:2 bay pattern. The left two bays project under two irregular gables, while the right two bays are in a wing of lower height. The windows include 2, 3, and 4-light chamfered stone-mullioned designs, with the left two on the ground floor having transomed casements with horizontal glazing bars, and a single attic light in the left gable. The door opening is located in the second bay and features a moulded 4-centred head stone surround with a plank door and elaborate strap hinges. Part of the building is currently partitioned as a flat. The Vicarage is primarily included for its group value.
