Description
Rode Mill House is a late 18th-century house constructed from coursed and squared rubble with dressed flush quoins. It features a moulded eaves cornice and a hipped stone tile roof, along with two large brick stacks. The house has an "L"-shaped plan with a symmetrical frontage, standing two storeys tall and comprising five bays. The windows are 12-pane sash types set in plain stone surrounds, and there is a moulded string at the first-floor level. The central door opening also has a stone surround, topped with a moulded slab hood supported by cut stone brackets. The door itself is six-panelled, with the top two panels being glazed. The house is noted for its exceptionally fine proportions and has group value with the adjacent stables and gazebo.
