Description
This is a wall located along the west side of Church Path, on the north side of High Street and the east side of Sub Road, dating from the mid-19th century. The wall is made of coursed and squared lias stone and stands approximately 2 metres high, with dressed coping. It extends for 36 metres along Church Path and features a radiused corner at High Street, continuing in a similar style for about 145 metres, where it has some dressed coping and some rubble coping. There is an entrance with radiused walling that is lower in height and terminates in piers. A section of the wall near the junction with Sub Road rises up to 3 metres high and has a radiused corner, continuing in the same style for 100 metres with rubble coping. This wall is an important feature in the local landscape.
