Description
The Duke of York is a public house built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features whitewashed brick and a 20th-century pantile roof, along with brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a stable wing at the rear that has been converted into accommodation. It stands two stories high and has four windows on the first floor. The entrance includes a six-fielded-panel door set in a Tuscan door frame topped with a dentilled cornice. There is evidence of two additional doorways on the right side, which are now blocked. The windows throughout the building are 16-pane sashes with flat brick arches. The structure includes end and ridge stacks.
