Description
The barn at Scarthingwell Hall Farm is an early 18th-century structure that was built as part of the model farm associated with Scarthingwell Hall. It features coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a roof made of pantiles and 20th-century corrugated sheeting. The barn consists of 11 bays. The south front has a central projecting three-bay hay store, which includes three round-arched openings with key stones and impost blocks, all beneath a wide pediment. On either side of the hay store are large double doors, set back slightly, under segmental arches. Beyond these, there are single-storey lean-to sections with a single later opening. The north front is mostly blank, except for matching pairs of double doors.
