Description

The former water point, dated 1897, is constructed of ashlar sandstone. It features a round-arched opening with a keyed lintel and recessed spandrels, topped by a segmental pediment that has a moulded frame and the date displayed in the tympanum. At the base of the structure, on each side, there is a rounded stone. The central opening is partly filled by a large block, which has a cast-iron animal mask at the top that once had a spout. This building is included for its group value and is attached to a wall that was part of the now incomplete enclosure of the village pound.
