Description
Rallin Brow is a house and barn dating from the early to mid-19th century, with earlier origins in the late 17th century. The house is constructed of rendered stone with painted dressings, and has a stone slate roof. It follows a T-shaped plan, with two storeys and three bays. The central entrance is distinguished by a moulded surround with check-pieces and a projecting open pediment supported by massive, ogee-shaped consoles. Windows, both on the ground and upper floors, have plain surrounds and sash windows without glazing bars. A ground floor sill band is present, along with chamfered quoins and shaped eaves modillions. Gable end ridge stacks rise from the roof. A re-used entrance in the rear wing features a chamfered surround and a decorated lintel inscribed "16 L 99 T M." To the left of the house stands a barn with a later 17th-century King post roof truss.
