Description
Queen's Rock is a house with garden railings, located on Bankwell Road in Giggleswick. It dates from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of slobbered rubble brought to course, featuring painted stone dressings and a stone slate roof. It has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays.
The central entrance has a plain surround with a basket-arched lintel and a six-panel door, where the upper two panels are glazed. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight, and there is a trellis porch with a slate roof. The house has two ground floor windows and two upper floor windows, all of which are two-light flat-faced mullioned windows, except for the central upper floor window, which is a single light. All windows have sashes without glazing bars. The eaves are shaped with modillions, and there are gable end kneelers and coping, along with gable end ridge stacks. The front garden is walled and features railings and a gate in the Regency style.
