GV II

Farmhouse. Early C18 with C19 reroofing and C20 restoration. Brick, random bond, ashlar quoins, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. 6-panel door with diamond glazed overlight bay 2. Sashes with glazing bars in flush wood architraves throughout, lintels to first floor. Ashlar band at lintel level of ground-floor openings, with keystones above the openings. C19 brick stacks to left and ridge between bays 3 and 4. Rear: a tall blocked window below moulded brick pediment probably originally lit the stairs and had an eared architrave. Interior: the right-hand stack serves a large fireplace far right and corner fireplaces to the central rooms on both floors. The first-floor fireplace is of wood and has a bolection moulding and cast-iron basket grate. The bolection moulding is found on other fireplaces; the staircase is rebuilt but some of the bulbous balusters are original.
