Description

Chesters Ford Cottage is an early 18th-century house, later altered, located in Thornton le Street, off Main Street. The house is constructed of ashlar and has a machine tile roof. It is two storeys high and originally comprised four bays. A 20th-century stone porch has been added to the second bay, and a board door is situated to the left of the right-hand bay. The right-hand bay features a 12-pane side-sliding sash window. The remaining bays have 3-light 20th-century casements set beneath stone lintels, with a single-light window above the front door. The building has shaped kneelers and a stone coping. A brick end stack is present on the right side, and a larger ridge stack is also visible.
