Description
The stable building located to the north-west of Crathorne Hall was constructed in the early 20th century by Sir Ernest George. It features rendered brick with ashlar dressings and a graduated stone slate hipped roof. The design is symmetrical, highlighted by a three-storey central tower topped with a pyramidal roof, a clock stage, and a domed bellcote with a vane. The tower includes three slit vents at the top, three small sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and a round arched carriage entrance below. Flanking the tower are two-storey, four-bay side sections with sash windows set in raised surrounds and stone alternating quoins. The other three ranges surrounding the courtyard are made of machine brick and lack special design quality, although their graduated stone slate roofs contribute to the overall aesthetic of the building.
