Description
Old Hall Cottages, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, were converted into cottages in 1935. The building features a mix of squared tooled stone and handmade brick, with a modern brick extension on the west that has been limewashed. It is two storeys high and U-shaped, with the main facades facing south and east, consisting of six and five bays respectively. The windows are segment-headed; those on the stone east front have raised surrounds with key blocks, while the windows on the brick south front, which includes a first-floor band, are in plain reveals. All windows have been replaced with sash windows that include glazing bars. The cottages are noted for their group value as they provide a backdrop to the nearby church.
