Description

The Church of St Mary is a Roman Catholic church built in 1777 for the Crathorne family, who were Roman Catholics and former lords of the manor. It is constructed from local handmade light red brick in English garden wall bond and features a Welsh slate roof with stone gable coping and bracketed eaves.

The church has one tall storey and three windows, which are Tudor arched and roll-moulded, with interlaced glazing bars and a cill band. There is a 19th-century south-west porch that is designed in a similar style. Inside, the church has a Gothick interior that includes galleries and box pews.
