Description

Wingate Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 18th-century farmhouse situated off the Harrogate Road, near Plompton in North Yorkshire. The building is constructed of coursed gritstone with a Westmorland slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a four-bay front. A 20th-century glazed door is set within a stone architrave in the second bay, with a further 20th-century glazed door inserted to the left. There are side-sliding sash windows to the left and in bays 1 and 2 above. Bays 3 and 4 contain sash windows with six panes above. All windows have plain lintels and sills. The farmhouse is finished with kneelers and ashlar gable coping. It has ashlar ridge stacks located at the gable ends and between bays 3 and 4.
