Description
High Farm House is a late 18th-century house located on Boroughbridge Road in Green Hammerton. It is constructed of roughcast brick and features a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The central door has six fielded panels and a fanlight, framed by a doorcase with pilasters and an open pediment that includes a panelled soffit. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, set in flush wood architraves and painted stone sills. A string course runs at the first-floor level, and there is a dentilled eaves cornice. The gables are finished with brick coping and stone kneelers, and there are stacks at each end. A later parallel range has been added to the rear. The property is enclosed by railings that create a semicircular forecourt, featuring plain pointed bars and a gate with thicker iron piers topped with bulbous finials.
