Description

This is a late 18th-century linen mill, later converted into houses around 1810, with 20th-century restoration work. It is constructed of squared gritstone blocks with a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys high and consists of five bays, with the fifth bay set back, containing No 10, Holly House. Numbers 2 and 4 each feature a six-panel door with a fanlight above, surrounded by panelled reveals and a doorcase supported by consoles and a cornice. Numbers 6 and 8 have 20th-century doors and restaurant windows. The remaining windows are sash windows with restored glazing bars. A bay window sits on the first floor to the left side, featuring a wrought-iron balustrade above. No 10 has a six-panel door with an overlight, a plain doorcase with consoles, and a cornice. It also has four-pane sash windows. All ground-floor and first-floor windows have simple lintels. Each dwelling has a ridge stack.
