Description

Red Court, dated 1906, is a two-story and attic red brick building on a corner site, built in a simplified Georgian revival style. The building has a stone plinth, cornice, and crenellated parapet which sweeps up over the three-light attic windows. There are three half-octagon "pepper box" turrets with copper domes at the corners of the main front and one on the south side. Between the turrets, the building features central solid stone segmental balconies, partially recessed under round-headed arches on the first floor. Narrow windows are present in the turrets, while the main front has seven flush architrave-framed sash windows on the ground floor. A five-window west wing ends in a canted bay, with an entablature and parapet continued from the main block. A single-story ashlar conservatory adjoins the north side, featuring Ionic columns, an entablature, a balustraded parapet, and coloured glass, and may have formerly been open as a loggia.
