Description

Ivy House is an 18th-century house located on Stokesley High Street. It is constructed of local brownish brick in an English garden wall bond. The roof is covered with modern clay pantiles, and it features end chimneys, with the right-hand chimney rebuilt. A small bracketed wood eaves cornice runs along the roofline. The house has stone quoins and a prominent plinth.

The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade of three windows. The first floor has replaced sash windows with glazing bars within wooden architraves. The ground floor features large modern bow windows. A central six-panel door is set within a pilaster-and-entablature doorcase, above which is an oblong fanlight.

The right return wall is of early ashlar, incorporating a sloped plinth and rubbing stone at the corner.
