Description
The gates, gate-piers, wall, and terminal piers at Eagle Lodge date from the early 19th century and are made of wrought iron and ashlar stone. The gates feature a wheel motif at the base, scrolls below the mid-rail, and fleurs-de-lis above the mid-rail, with a design of alternating wavy and straight bars topped with fleurs-de-lis finials. The rusticated ashlar piers have ogee bases, classical cornices, and ball finials. The wall is curved in plan and has coping. The terminal piers also have ogee bases and classical cornices, which support short column bases adorned with eagles.
