Description
Cover Bridge Inn is a 17th-century inn located in East Witton. The building is roughcast with a stone slate roof and has a 2½ storey L-shaped plan, featuring a cross-wing on the right side. The entrance is situated on the left return of the cross-wing, which has a chamfered surround and a triangular soffit to the lintel, leading to a part-glazed six-panel door.
The main range includes a three-light side-sliding sash window on the ground floor and a 20th-century casement window on the first floor. The cross-wing has two fixed-light windows on the ground floor, a square side-sliding sash window in a moulded stone surround on the first floor, and a two-pane casement window in a moulded stone surround in the gable. The building features shaped kneelers, copings, and end stacks on the main range.
There is a square extension to the right with a 16-pane sash window and a hipped roof, as well as a lean-to extension to the left that is dated 1908.
