Description

A stone pillar located near the southeast corner of West Park was erected in 1778 to mark the boundary of two Turnpike Trusts on the Leeds to Ripon Turnpike Road. This rough-hewn grit stone monolith is inscribed with the words "Boundary of the Leeds and Ripon Turnpike roads."
